How do I run a Halcyon Search?
Navigate to https://app.halcyon.io/search
Then, complete at least one filter to begin narrowing the universe of information. As you add filters, the Catalog count dynamically updates - this is how search works, there is no “Search now” button. We recommend starting with one or more Commissions/publishers, which returns more specific, relevant documents (see Filters: Commissions for the full list of sources.)

Do I need to fill in every field?
No. You only need to complete at least one field to run a search, and results update automatically each time you adjust filters. The Search landing page is itself a search with no filters applied (all documents in the Halcyon catalog).
Searching by docket number
The docket number field lets you search for specific docket IDs across your selected publishers, or across all publishers at once.
Viewing documents vs. dockets
Each search result shows the docket number(s) associated with the resulting document. You can click the docket number to view Halcyon’s Docket profile, which includes high-level information about the docket and an AI-generated summary of the docket proceeding.
Can I see the dockets associated with these documents?
Yes, in two ways:
Each search result shows the docket number(s) associated with the resulting document. You can click the docket number to view Halcyon’s Docket profile, which includes high-level information about the docket and an AI-generated summary of the docket proceeding.

You can also switch the results view between documents and dockets using the drop-down menu next to the results count. Switching this view will show all dockets that are associated with at least one document.

What are Topic filters?
Topic filters narrow search results based on tags curated and applied by the Halcyon team. Some topics are conceptual (e.g., “Data Center” tags documents related to data centers), while others correspond to specific types of plans or reports (e.g., “Integrated Resource Plan”).
All Halcyon filters, other than keywords, operate on OR logic within a category, so if you select two publishers you will get all results from both publishers. They operate on AND logic across filter types. This allows you to use a publisher filter with a topic to drill down to something like “All the IRPs filed with the Oregon PUC.”
Can I sort the search results?
Yes! You can sort by recency (“Newest”; “Oldest”) and document length (“Longest”; “Shortest”).
