What happens, under the hood, when I run a query?
When you run a query, Halcyon follows a two-step process to provide a well-researched response. First, it searches your filtered documents for the most relevant information - including text, images, tables and charts - to use in response to your question.
Then, AI extracts that relevant information and uses it to generate a query response, providing citations back to the original source excerpts.
If tables, charts, or visual elements from the source documents were used to inform a given response, the “Figures” tab will show those elements. The “Documents” tab displays a subset of documents that were used to construct the response. Halcyon’s software is purpose-built for energy-industry specific language and terminology (acronym disambiguation, for example) so that responses are more accurate and helpful.
