Understanding your Homepage

Your Halcyon Homepage gives you a daily snapshot of regulatory changes you track

Your Homepage is the first thing you see when you log in, and it’s built to answer one question every morning: what changed in the energy regulatory landscape that I care about?

The Navigation Menu

The menu running down the left side is how you move around Halcyon. From top to bottom:

  • Home – Your daily summary of new alerts and tracker updates
  • Search – find document across Halcyon’s catalog of 7M+ dockets and filing by setting criteria like publisher, keyword, docket number, filing type, topic, or date
  • Queries – ask a natural language question and get a cited answer drawn from Halcyon’s catalog
  • Alerts – create, review, edit to your alerts or browse.subscribe to any Curated alerts created by the Halcyon team

In the upper right hand corner, you find the hamburger menu. When you are on a different page in the platform, you can find the navigation bar here. You can also go straight back to the homepage by hitting the Halcyon logo on the top left side of the screen.

New Alerts

The heading at the top of the page – for example, “You have 2 new alerts today”  – introduces your alerts feed. This is the heart of the homepage. Everytime you have a new alert response, you can see the update directly on the homepage.

How to read your alerts:

  • Title – the name of the alert
  • “New” tag – marks alerts that came in that day.
  • Date – when the alert ran (today, yesterday, or a specific date)
  • Summary – your query response that briefs the key information about each document in that alert.

You can click each card to see the full alert and view the underlying source documents. Click view all at the bottom of the feed to see your complete alert history.

Suggested Alerts

To the right of your feed is the Suggested alerts panel. These are Halcyon Curated Alerts.

Each suggestion shows:

  • Name -  the topic it tracks
  • Description – a short line on what the alert watches for
  • Frequency how often it runs
  • Add alert – click to start receiving that alert in your feed and inbox

To see the full library, click Browse Alerts at the top of the panel

  • Tracker name  – the dataset
  • Total count – how many records the tracker holds
  • New / Removed – records added or dropped in the update, shown as colored tags
  • Updates to existing  – how many existing records were revised
  • View changelog – opens the detailed log of exactly what changed
