Organize and Share Your Work with Halcyon Projects

One place for everything behind a piece of work you’re tracking — ready to share with your team.

Projects are workspaces inside Halcyon that help you organize and track your work in one place, and let you easily share it with your team.

Finding a filing or uncovering buried data is only half the job. With Projects you don't have to rebuild your findings in slides or spreadsheets. Rather, save your searches, dockets, documents, queries and alerts you're working from, and share them with your teammates, who can then build on those and save their own. This transforms Halcyon from a place where one person conducts research to an organizational hub for energy intelligence.

Projects are included with full platform access, including free trials.

Where to find Projects

Click Projects in the left navigation — it's on the home page and available from anywhere in the app. The first time you open it you'll see a few Halcyon Curated Projects alongside any projects you create.

Every project has a name, a description, an owner, collaborators, and its resources. Each resource shows its type, a detail (document count, number of filters, row count) and the date it was added.

You can add
What it is
Searches
Saved, filtered searches across every commission and ISO/RTO, with every filter preserved
Dockets
Proceedings you follow, with status and latest activity
Documents
The filings, orders and testimony you return to
Queries
Plain-language questions and their cited answers
Alerts
Your own alerts and Halcyon Curated Alerts, so new filings land in the right project
Grids

Create a project

  1. Click Projects in the left navigation, then New project.
  1. Give it a name and a short description your team will recognize (for example, "Data Center Load Growth — tracking large load interconnection and co-location filings").
  1. Under Select account, make sure your own account is selected.
  1. Click Save project.

Your new project opens empty, ready for resources. You can also create a project on the spot from the "Add to" pop-up anywhere in the app — see the next section.

Add your work to a project

You add resources from wherever they live in the app. Each time, an Add to project pop-up lets you pick an existing project or create a new one on the spot. A confirmation appears at the bottom of the screen with a View project link.

Searches

  1. Run a search and apply your filters (publishers, dockets, keywords, filing types, topics, dates).
  1. Click Add to above the results.
  1. Choose the project, give the bookmark a name and optional description, and click Create. The search is saved with every filter in place.

Dockets

  1. In Search, switch the results type to Dockets and select the docket you want.
  1. Open the docket to review its executive summary and Q&A.
  1. Click Add to project at the top of the docket page, choose the project, and click Create.

Documents

  1. Open a document from your search results.
  1. Click Add to project at the top of the document viewer, choose the project, and click Create. The document name and executive summary carry over.

Queries

  1. From Search, switch to the Query tab, write your question, and click Run to generate a cited answer against the selected documents.
  1. On the response page, click Add to project, choose the project, and click Create. The question and its filters are saved with the answer.

Alerts

  1. Create an alert from a search (or open an existing one), then in Alert settings set its name and notification frequency and click Save alert.
  1. On the alert page, click Add to project, choose the project, and click Add. Halcyon Curated Alerts can be added the same way.

Grids (currently in Beta)

Click Add to project at the top of a saved grid.

An item can live in more than one project, and everything you add stays linked to the original. When a docket gets a new filing or a saved search picks up new results, the project reflects it automatically.

Share a project with your team

  1. Open the project and click Edit next to Collaborators in the left panel.
  1. Search for a colleague by name or email and select them.
  1. Choose their permission level, then click Save changes.

Collaborators must be at your organization and have a Halcyon seat. Projects can't be shared with people outside your organization. If you'd like to add a colleague who doesn't have a seat yet, reach out to your Halcyon account owner.

Projects are private by default. Only the owner and the collaborators they add can see what's inside — not your organization's admins, and not Halcyon.

Get started with Halcyon Curated Projects

Every account comes with ready-made projects built by Halcyon's experts. Browse them for a frame of reference, then build your own around your market. The library is growing; to start you'll find:

Good to know

Removing an item from a project doesn't delete it. Remove an alert from a project and the alert keeps running. Delete a project and the searches, alerts and dockets inside it stay where they were.

Resources stay live. Items in a project are links to the original docket, search, query or alert. When the original updates, the project does too.

Projects aren't a document editor. They organize and share the work you do in Halcyon; they don't replace your notes or slides.

You can't run a query against a whole project yet. A project mixes searches, alerts, documents and dockets, so Query can't take it as an input. Instead, filter Search to the dockets that matter, run Query there, and save that search to the project.

Shared grids show the base grid. Collaborators can open a grid you saved, but not yet the custom columns you added. We're working on this.

Projects aren't in the public API yet. Search, Query, Alerts and data subscriptions are.
